Amazon S3 downloads

Many hosting accounts usually advertise “unlimited” storage space but you’ll notice a slight change in on your dashboard or website performance when your file storage use really starts to get large (that amount will vary from one hosting company to another) and your website visitors make frequent file downloads or view your videos often. A better alternative is to host your files on Amazon S3 but you’ll need to ensure that the permission settings are correct. After uploading your files to your Amazon S3 bucket you’ll need to add the user “Everyone” and check the “Open/Download” box in the “Permissions” tab under file “Properties”. To prevent your website visitors from getting the “access denied” error when they try to download a file automatically from your bucket, you’ll need to add two key/value entries, “content type”:”application/pdf” and “Content-disposition”:”attachment”. These are located in the “Metadata” section under file “Properties”.
